A Date with an Icon: The Eiffel Tower By the amazing grace of God, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit the one and only Eiffel Tower (La Tour Eiffel). Standing before this magnificent structure, it's hard to imagine that it was never meant to stay. Built in 1889 by the French engineer Gustave Eiffel for the World's Fair, this 324-metre iron lattice tower was originally planned as a temporary exhibit. Yet, here it stands—over 130 years later—as the beating heart of Paris and the most enduring symbol of France. As we gazed up at its intricate ironwork stretching into the sky, we couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. It is one thing to see it in photographs, but quite another to stand in its shadow, to feel its presence, and to watch it gleam against the Parisian sky. A Moment of Gratitude Days like today are gentle reminders of the blessings that surround us. From the rich history embedded in every rivet of the tower to the joyful laughter of families and friends enjoying the park below, Paris offered us a moment of pure grace.
